Texan Hospitality

Here are a few photos of the sweet folks we happened upon at a rest stop outside Marshall. They were offering freshly grilled hotdogs, chip, sweets and soft drinks and it was all FREE to hungry travlers. Along with the great food, these friendly folks served up tons of brochures with information on things to do in Texas, (and they had some neat give-a-ways at the door prize table.) All in all, we found them to be a delightful group of volunteers exemplifying that true gift of southern hospitality! ~Hugs, Shellie

Here's Cyndie in her flag shirt. She thought she needed to be in the picture since there was a flag flying behind her. She's real camera shy, bless her heart.

Let me introduce you to Joyce Weekly and Sylvia Bishop, a couple of the volunteers serving those delicious hotdogs.
We were impressed with how clean everything was!

Don't be fooled by the lawn chair.
This sweet man had the hottest job there, tending the grill!

The information ladies had a wealth of good ideas, like visiting Marshall Pottery, a 100,000 square foot store which just happens to be one of the oldest potteries in the country and the largest manufacturer of red clay pots in America today. That's the soft drink ladies taking time to pose for me in the background.

Texas belles smile for the camera! Left to right, Honey Best,
Milly Green, (the President of the Ambassador Club responsible for
all this hospitality), and Alaina Pool.

I've told y'all about Papa so often, I figured I'd end with this one. That's Papa and Mama with the new graduate. Way to go, Blake!
