Dogwoods, Magnolias and old Cypress trees,
And how I love cider, could I have another glass please?
I love moonlit nights with a sky full of stars.
And strawberry preserves out of Mason brand jars.
To get a wave from the wheel of most every truck,
A complete total stranger who helps out when I’m stuck.
My neighbor aged eighty who struggles to walk,
Who still has a garden, and still loves to talk.
I love the preacher still preaching salvation through Christ,
And that those who don’t go there, still know wrong from right.
Purple-hulls and okra are priceless in worth.
Thank God up above I was Southern by birth!
