My Day in Jonesboro, LA

Hello folks,

Last Thursday I had the privilege to tell my stories to two children's groups at the Jackson Parish Library. In the middle of those groups, I spoke at a ladies luncheon. Yeah...it was a very busy day, but it was also a great one!

I'm not blowing smoke when I say that the people of Jonesboro treated me as warmly as anyone I've ever met. It was an honor to be with them and I hope y'all enjoy the pictures. (Special thanks to my mama for taking the pics for me.)

Hugs,
Shellie

This is me and the library director at the Jackson Parish Library, Mrs. Robin Toms. I wish I could tell y'all the story of that wonderful statue behind me. It was sculpted in memory of a great lady, Faye Hood, who was the library director there for thirty eight years! The artist is Ronnie Wells and the piece is titled, "Once Upon a Time". Isn't he terrific?

I'm telling them about the day I assisted Cyndie in an "Open Frog Surgery".
My big old frog there was a big hit.

Check out my Indian headress. It blew my hairdo for the rest of the day,
but it was fun!

I'm getting the kids to help me with the chorus of
"Makin' the Best of a Bad Situation."

That little lady I'm talking to on the far was precious! I fully expect to hear about her in the future. Matter of fact, I wanted to take her on the road with me!

I'm still telling and they're still listening. *grin*
The kids were SO good!

Here's a pic of some of the ladies enjoying their salads
the library so graciously provided.

More ladies!

And here I am talking again. Hmmm...I do that a lot, don't I? *grin*

Holler at me if you want me to speak to your club, church or oganization! If I've got an open date, I'll put my "go" shoes on.

Hugs,
Shellie
