Bio
As an infant, Shellie Rushing Tomlinson had one of the earliest cases of appendicitis ever documented. Subsequently, fifty-four doctors came to Natchez, MS to study her case. In retrospect, Shellie believes it may have been better had they studied her brain. Shellie is willing to admit it. She hears voices. After briefly considering medication she has instead chosen a career in storytelling to allow them all a chance to be heard. It's working out pretty well.
Shellie Rushing Tomlinson lives in Lake Providence, Louisiana with her husband, Phil. Their daughter, Jessica, and her husband, Patrick, live
in Houston, TX. Their son, Phillip, and his new wife, Carey, live in Lake Providence. Shellie is the author of “Lessons Learned on Bull
Run Road”, “’Twas the Night before the Very First Christmas” and “Southern
Comfort with Shellie Rushing Tomlinson” and the recently released title from Penguin Group USA, Suck Your Stomach In and Put Some Color On . Shellie is
owner and publisher of a website called All Things Southern and the host of a daily radio show and weekly TV segment

It was a very hot July day in Louisiana...Shellie was the keynote speaker for Louisiana Association of Chiefs of Police annual conference Ladies luncheon. It was my honor to host this state-wide event. After arriving at Poverty Point, I soon realized that due to the size of the crowd our event had been moved outside to the Marina’s deck. We situated the ladies outside and brought out as many fans as the deck would hold.
After many sighs and "Oh, I'm sooooo hot"....in walks Shellie. I nervously welcomed her, explained our change of plans, and apologized for the heat. She took the news with great humor and began her program. Needless to say...Shellie stole the show and won our hearts! The ladies completely forgot about the heat. They laughed and clapped and wanted more. It was a wonderful, motivational experience. Shellie leaves you with a tremendous warm feeling for your family, church, and friends! I count it an honor to recommend her to other organizations.
