Bam! Ouch! And once again, I had found my bedroom door—in the dark, with my face instead of my hands. Now, before you suggest a night light, let me just say that I have one, thankyouverymuch, only the bulb’s burned out and for the love of money I can’t seem to remember to buy a replacement, although I can recall exactly where I sat in Mrs. Holmes first grade classroom. My brain prioritizes information, which wouldn’t be so bad if I understood the filing system.
There is a lot to be said for old family homes but for the sake of today’s discussion, it will not be their dependability. I love the big rambling home I live in where my husband grew up, but let’s face it, an old house is much like an aging body, parts begin to wear. One of our current problems is the wiring in the back hall. It works some days but it can also take months off at a time. So, many a night if I forgot to leave a lamp on in the bedroom that morning, I have to grope my way down the hall feeling for the opening to our room.
Got a visual? Great, I want to share a scripture with you. Acts 17:27 says that God made us and placed us in this time and in this place “so that we should seek Him, in the hope that as we grope for Him, we would find Him, for He is not far from any of us.” Friends, if you haven’t searched and found Him for yourself, apart from your church, your friends, or your family, I want to encourage you to begin the greatest quest of your life with the One who breathed it into you. It’s kind of like me and that immovable wall. Jesus will light your way to God if you’ll let Him, but either way, one day you’ll meet Him face first. Will it be on this side of eternity or beyond?

The Second Installment of the Locker Room is here--
*My very good friend, Rhonda Perry, and I have created a segment called "The Locker Room" for our church. Each short skit teaches a Biblical truth that is discussed in a brief teaching session that wraps the whole idea up.
